Priority Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting compassionate and experienced Female Support Workers to support a young adult female within a well-established, person-centred care package in Amotherby, near Malton (North Yorkshire).

You will be working in the client’s own adapted home, supporting her with daily living, personal care, and community engagement as part of a consistent and supportive team.

About the Client

The client is a 22-year-old female wheelchair user who requires 24/7 care and support. She lives at home with her mother and younger sister in a fully adapted property, including ceiling track hoists, mobile hoists, accessible bathroom facilities, and a sleep system bed. There is a carer office/room available for overnight sleep-in shifts.

She has a great sense of humour and enjoys:

  • Visiting cocktail bars and pubs
  • Musical theatre trips (London & Leeds)
  • Films and reality TV
  • Shopping online and in the community
  • Social activities and days out

Support in the community is often provided on a 2:1 basis, and the team is currently encouraging greater independence by supporting her to engage in activities with staff rather than relying solely on family support.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care with dignity and respect (including bathing, dressing, and hygiene)
  • Supporting with feeding and medication administration
  • Using ceiling track and mobile hoists safely (training available)
  • Following detailed, person-centred care plans
  • Supporting daily routines, including later bedtimes and flexible mornings
  • Encouraging independence and confidence away from family support
  • Supporting social activities, outings, and trips
  • Driving the client using a WAV automatic vehicle
  • Liaising with the Team Leader and wider care team
  • Maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding procedures

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rates (enhanced weekends and bank holidays)
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity
  • Dedicated learning and development with free mandatory training
  • Moving & Handling and Medication Administration training provided
  • Holiday pay
  • Pension scheme
  • Ongoing support from Priority Recruitment’s Registered Manager and consultants
  • Refer a Friend Scheme – earn up to £500 per referral

Successful Applicant

  • Female Support Worker (genuine occupational requirement)
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex physical needs preferred
  • Familiarity with hoists and cerebral palsy is desirable (training available)
  • Confident providing personal care
  • Driver essential
  • Good spoken English
