Female Support Worker

Location: Redditch
Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Contract Type: Bank / Part-Time
Hours: 24 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday (10am–4pm or 11am–5pm)
Start Date: Asap
Driving Requirement: Full UK Licence + Own Car with Business Insurance (Essential)

Thriving are pleased to present this rewarding opportunity for a female Complex Care Support Worker based in Redditch, supporting a young adult living with the long-term effects of an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Cerebral Palsy.

This long-term 1:1 package offers meaningful, consistent work within a friendly, structured care environment. You’ll be supporting a 25-year-old female who is bubbly, sociable, and enjoys engaging in a wide range of activities including charity shop volunteering, aqua fitness, craft groups, concerts, and community outings.

With the support of a specialist neuro-rehab team, you will help her build independence, confidence, emotional resilience, and positive daily routines.

More about the role:

  • Supporting a young adult with ABI/Cerebral Palsy to maintain independence and confidence
  • Providing emotional reassurance during anxiety, fatigue, and sensory overwhelm
  • Encouraging structure, planning, and organisation in daily routines
  • Supporting engagement in therapy programmes including OT, physio, SLT, neuropsychology and vocational rehab
  • Accompanying her to activities such as aqua fitness, disability sports groups, craft groups and community events
  • Providing companionship and supporting with “girly” routines (hair, appearance, social confidence)
  • Encouraging and supporting her voluntary work in a local charity shop
  • Ensuring safety during outings and providing rest breaks during longer walks
  • No personal care and no medication administration required
  • Maintaining clear communication with therapeutic professionals and the wider support team

Successful Applicant:

  • Experience in ABI, Cerebral Palsy, neuro-rehab, learning disabilities or community support (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent spoken English
  • A caring, proactive, supportive personality that matches the client’s bubbly and social nature
  • Confident supporting executive function challenges such as planning and organisation
  • Able to work independently within a 1:1 structure
  • Reliable, patient, emotionally intelligent, and professional
  • Female only – genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle and business insurance (essential)
